Q&A WITH DANIELLE BUIS

How long have you worked in accounting, finance, and/or tech? Recruiting?

I have been working in the accounting industry for the past two and a half years specifically focused on consulting and helping clients navigate their ERP and financial planning software solutions.

How were you introduced to the recruiting industry?

Through conversations with the DeWinter Team – Mike and Don spearheaded my initial interest and after meeting the team, the rest is history!

Why do you look forward to working in accounting, finance or tech talent acquisition?

I’ve truly enjoyed working with Finance and Accounting professionals as coworkers and clients over the last few years and am excited to continue to do so. The Bay Area specifically has so much talent. I’m looking forward to meeting some great candidates and helping them find their perfect next step.

If you were to provide advice to peers in accounting, finance, or tech seeking to develop their careers, what would it be?

Never be the smartest person in the room and check in frequently to make sure that’s the case. Often times, the people you surround yourself with can exponentially expedite or hinder your growth.

How did you first learn about the DeWinter Group?

Mike Tomasello reached out to me through LinkedIn and after a wonderful initial phone conversation, I couldn’t help but want to come in for an office visit. Everyone I met during my interview process was genuine, sharp and welcoming. It’s clear why they have such great relationships with candidates and I’m excited to be a part of such a well-established team.

How do you plan on developing the DeWinter Group? What are your goals for the coming year?

Over the next year I plan to build up my relationships internally and with candidates by observing, listening and working tirelessly. I’m excited to start contributing to the well-established success of the team.

How do you plan on practicing the DeWinter Group’s Mission Statement: ‘We Build Our Network One Relationship at a Time’?

Trust will always be the main focus. Whether it be with an internal teammate or a candidate, I want to make sure that they feel confident I have their best interest in mind. I’ll earn that trust by taking the time to truly understand their background, what they are looking for and how I can be best helpful in them achieving that.

How do you plan on balancing your career at the DeWinter Group and free time?

I’ve always believed in quality over quantity, whether it be for work or personal life. To balance the two, I plan on focusing to make all of my interactions as meaningful as possible.
