Q&A WITH BRIEANNE TRAUBE
How long have you worked in accounting, finance, and/or tech? Recruiting?
I have worked on and off in accounting and finance for the last 10 years. I began my finance career in operations at a hedge fund and then transitioned into sales at an outsourced financial services company headquartered here in the Bay Area. Although this is the first time I have ever worked for a recruiting firm, I am beyond exciting to have the opportunity to merge my experiences and expertise within the finance sector with the DeWinter Group’s premier approach to talent acquisition and advancement!
How were you introduced to the recruiting industry?
My dad is a “headhunter” and understandably he taught me much of what I know about recruiting and the recruitment industry.
Why do you look forward to working in accounting, finance or tech talent acquisition?
Accounting & finance play such a crucial role in all businesses and there is always something more to learn which keeps things interesting.
If you were to provide advice to peers in accounting, finance, or tech seeking to develop their careers, what would it be?
Every relationship is important and you never know where the next opportunity will come from so try to do your best by everyone you meet.
How did you first learn about the DeWinter Group?
I first learned about the DeWinter Group through a warm introduction from a colleague in my network.
What are 3 words to describe the DeWinter Group (or your impression thus far)?
How do you plan on developing the DeWinter Group? What are your goals for the coming year?
I’m hoping to expand DeWinter’s professional footprint by connecting the firm to new companies and new opportunities. I also hope to deepen existing relationships within our combined networks to hopefully make DeWinter a household name (at least in the Bay Area!) They have such an amazing network of accounting, finance, and tech professionals, as is, so I am grateful for the opportunity to further represent and communicate their mission to Bay Area employers.
How do you plan on practicing the DeWinter Group’s Mission Statement: ‘We Build Our Network One Relationship at a Time’?
DeWinter’s mission statement is something that I feel very personally aligned with. Each and every person has something unique to offer and I love learning what that might be. I try my best to add value wherever I go and I look forward to doing that at the DeWinter Group as well!
How do you plan on balancing your career at the DeWinter Group and free time?
Weekends and evenings have always been about downtime dedicated to connecting with family and friends. That downtime helps me bring my A-game every day. Work-life balance is important to me and I love that it’s also important at DeWinter.
If you woke up and had 2,000 unread emails and could only answer 300 of them, how would you choose which ones to answer?
After freaking out about all the emails in my inbox, I would first answer emails from my clients and strong business partners. Those relationships are the most important to me and would get my attention first.
