JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Director of Finance & Accounting.  As the Accounting Manager you will have 2-4 direct reports, your responsibilities include managing, coaching and mentoring your team.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading day to day transactional accounting, including Customer Invoicing, Collections, Accounts Payable, and Payroll
  • Direct the month-end close process, including review of high risk and/or technical journal entries, account reconciliations, fluctuation and trend analyses, and financial reports
  • Direct the implementation, enhancement, and/or upgrades of ERP system modules as well as the development of the associated business processes
  • Provide technical accounting guidance under US GAAP and advise management and staff on complex or new accounting transactions and GAAP issues which could impact the company
  • Assist in drafting and implementing accounting policies and procedures
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and drive continuous department improvement
  • Liaise with global accounting teams and shared services, including other group companies, tax, IT, and legal
  • Develop and evaluate employee’s performance and workloads, determine work priorities, implement changes to improve productivity and increase efficiency
  • Manage the financial audit process
  • Be aware and compliant with accounting policies and procedures
  • Work with Director of Finance & Accounting on various accounting projects

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 5 plus years of experience in relevant accounting activities, CPA preferred
  • 2+ years of managing direct reports
  • BA/BS in Accounting and Finance. Master’s preferred
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude, optimistic outlook, and high energy
  • Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Must have demonstrated presentation skills and able to easily present financial data in a clear and concise manner and have excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Self-starter and takes initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of internal clients
  • Highly proficient with Excel and other MS Office software applications. Experience with NetSuite preferred.
