JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to help drive financial accounting quality and accounting process efficiencies through the Company’s continued high pace of growth. This person will have exposure to both technical and general accounting projects and will work with a cross-functional team including FP&A, legal, engineering, and the broader executive team.  Further, this role will lead several automation, systems, and process improvement projects. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy and adherence to US GAAP
  • Prepare accurate and timely journal entries during monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Assist in preparing monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis along with meaningful commentary for management reporting
  • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and collaborate with respective teams to resolve issues
  • Work proactively with internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits to compile necessary audit and SOX support.
  • Assist in process and documentation improvement and automation projects with the goal of streamlining the month end close process.
  • Frequent interaction with teams across the business including HR, payroll, operations, legal, and business partners to ensure accurate accounting on a range of issues
  • Maintain, update, and evaluate accounting policies & procedures in line with U.S. GAAP.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
  • CPA and public accounting experience preferred as well as a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience. 
  • Demonstrates exceptional technical accounting proficiency as well as good professional judgment in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at accounting solutions.

  • Skilled at setting up automated processes and increasing operational efficiency
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and mission driven environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
  • Familiarity working with, summarizing, and manipulating large data sets in MS Excel (pivot tables, filtering data, etc.).
  • Proficient with Great Plains or other ERP systems
