Senior Manager, Technical Revenue

 

We’re looking for a highly motivated Senior Manager of Technical Revenue to join our growing Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Revenue, this position will be part of managing the various technical revenue demands that come with multi-performance obligations, services, discounting practices and gross vs net to name a few complexities. This role requires partnering with Sales, Marketing and Engineering with an eye toward collaboration on finding solutions.  The role, at times, will be asked to strategize on operational solutions to implement new business models.  This is a great opportunity for someone that has strong technical skills, but also enjoys reaching out to other stakeholders to support strategic solutions.  The role will manage and develop direct reports.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge of ASC 606 with innate ability to research interpret and apply revenue guidance to practical use case scenarios
  • Technical analysis and ability to write technical memoranda on revenue matters
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing and Engineering on deals, contract negotiation, new business models, and software road maps
  • Contract review with an eye toward rev rec matters and related documentation
  • Provide revenue training to both revenue team members and other stakeholders
  • Manage the Stand-alone Selling Price calculations
  • Support revenue operations team on new business model process
  • Ensure revenue policies are kept current
  • Ad hoc process improvement projects
  • Help build and develop the revenue accounting team and mentor, educate, and review the work of other supporting members

 

Required Experience:
 

  • Experienced in ASC 606 and ASC 340 with the ability/willingness to stay current on related developing issues
  • Excellent research abilities with strong technical writing skills
  • Experience and aptitude in various challenging revenue recognition matters
  • Detail oriented, organized, proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams and work with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA Preferred
  • A minimum of 10+ years professional experience including 3+ in industry; 4+ years of managerial experience required
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills with demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and at various levels within a company.
