Senior SEC Reporting Analyst

The Senior Analyst will be a member of the team responsible for completing financial statements, schedules and disclosures for SEC, FDIC and management reporting purposes (including earnings release, 10-Q, 10-K and Call Report schedules).  The Senior Analyst will be responsible for accurately compiling, analyzing and interpreting financial information that is distributed externally and internally.  The Senior Analyst will implement new accounting/regulatory guidance and research and provide guidance on accounting/reporting issues.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  1. Prepare schedules (for earnings release, 10-Q, 10-K, Call Report, internal management reports) and disclosures in accordance with SEC, FDIC or internal reporting requirements and organize/maintain applicable supporting documentation for every filing.

  1. Research technical guidance and communicate conclusions to various functional groups regarding accounting and regulatory reporting issues.

  1. Perform financial accounting analyses as necessary.

  1. Monitor and implement new accounting and regulatory pronouncements. Work together with functional groups (for example, Accounting, Finance, Credit Administration, Loan Servicing, Deposit Services) on implementation of new accounting and regulatory guidance.

  1. Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting; update procedures and internal control matrices; ensure clean audit trails and adequate documentation for all financial reports.

  1. Responsibilities include the following: 1) adhering to and complying with all applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, etc.), 2) adhering to Bank policies and procedures, 3) completing required training, 4) identifying and reporting potential suspicious activity to the BSA/AML Officer, and 5) knowing and verifying the identity of any customer(s) that enters into a relationship with the Bank.

Key Skillset:

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

– 3-4 years of experience at a Big 4 or national accounting firm (external audit) or mix public accounting/SEC reporting/financial reporting experience.

– Banking experience preferred.

– CPA preferred.

– Strong understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

– Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

– Detail-oriented approach to problem solving and ability to learn systems (reporting, record keeping, etc.) and processes quickly.

– Effective interpersonal skills.

– Strong written and oral communication skills.

– Proficient in Word and Excel.

– Oracle and Hyperion experience a plus.

– Workiva experience a plus.

– Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet tight deadlines.

– Self-motivated individual with a strong interest in accounting and reporting issues.
