Q&A WITH JESSIE LIN
How long have you worked in accounting, finance, and/or tech? Recruiting?
I started in public accounting over 2 years ago.
How were you introduced to the recruiting industry?
Throughout college, I attended a lot of career fairs to get to know various firms and recruiters. I also actively participated in my prior firm’s recruiting efforts. I enjoyed getting to know the students and sharing my experience with them.
Why do you look forward to working in accounting, finance or tech talent acquisition?
Throughout my college and work experience, I have met so many talented individuals. I love getting to know people and listening to their goals and career aspirations.
If you were to provide advice to peers in accounting, finance, or tech seeking to develop their careers, what would it be?
Always take time to self reflect on what you have done and what you want to achieve. Make sure that you’re continuously learning and pushing your comfort zone. Growing is an uneasy process but you are strong and capable of many things.
How were you introduced to the DeWinter Group?
I had met a recruiter in college who worked briefly for DeWinter Group and learned more about the firm through my own research.
What are 3 words to describe the DeWinter Group (or your impression thus far)?
How do you plan on developing the DeWinter Group? What are your goals for the coming year?
I am eager to learn as much as possible from everyone. As a Recruiting Coordinator, I plan to help alleviate the scheduling needs of the team and assist where I am needed.
How do you plan on practicing the DeWinter Group’s Mission Statement: ‘We Build Our Network One Relationship at a Time’?
Connecting candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers in an efficient and friendly manner. Listening to candidates and answering any questions, ensuring the process is as smooth as possible.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the Bay Area/Silicon Valley?
Attend food events and taking walks at local parks.
What did you originally want to be when you grew up?
A pastry chef.
What’s your favorite ’90s jam?
As Long As You Love Me – Backstreet Boys.
