Q&A WITH RICK CHUARTA

How long have you worked in accounting, finance, and/or tech? Recruiting?

I have worked in accounting and finance recruiting for over 10 years.

How were you introduced to the recruiting industry?

After living/working in the South Bay for quite some time, I wanted to make a move into downtown SF. I was exploring opportunities and saw a role at Ajilon Finance. The rest is history!

Why do you look forward to working in accounting, finance or tech talent acquisition?

The opportunity to meet and learn from so many highly intelligent people within all types of industries. I enjoy the dynamic workplace and how different each day is. There’s a certain excitement and rush that comes when the ideal candidate is identified for a client and the placement is made.

If you were to provide advice to peers in accounting, finance, or tech seeking to develop their careers, what would it be?

It’s important to always be learning and developing a new skill.

How did you first learn about the DeWinter Group?

I heard of the DeWinter Group through a mutual client and consultant.

What are 3 words to describe the DeWinter Group (or your impression thus far)?

How do you plan on developing the DeWinter Group? What are your goals for the coming year?

I will start by leveraging relationships I’ve had in the East Bay and partnering with colleagues on recent placements. In addition, I will connect and meet with key decision makers to build awareness around the DWG brand.

How do you plan on practicing the DeWinter Group’s Mission Statement: ‘We Build Our Network One Relationship at a Time’?

We get one chance to make a positive impression with clients. I intend to use my experience to listen carefully to each client’s requests, ask deeper questions that will help determine certain required skills and consistently deliver results.

How do you plan on balancing your career at the DeWinter Group and free time?

Outside of work I enjoy spending time and having fun with my family. Throw in a mountain bike ride and maybe a dash of tennis to help decompress and prepare me for the work week.

I grew up in Southern California

What’s your favorite thing to do in the Bay Area/Silicon Valley?

As a family we enjoy trying new restaurants. Also, exploring the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
