We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This individual will be crucial in maintaining precise financial records, preparing comprehensive financial statements, and ensuring strict adherence to accounting standards. The role demands strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to conduct in-depth financial analysis to inform strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and maintain financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Reconcile bank statements to verify the accuracy of cash balances.
- Perform thorough reconciliations of accounts, including accounts payable and general ledger accounts.
- Contribute to budgeting processes by offering valuable financial insights and analysis.
- Efficiently manage financial data using various accounting software platforms.
- Apply accrual accounting practices to ensure revenues and expenses are recognized in a timely manner.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial entries are precisely recorded.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to gather essential financial information for reporting.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable sales tax laws and regulations.
- Assist the CFO with employee payroll processing via ADP Total Source, including making weekly general ledger journal entries.
- Aid in internal and external audits and actively contribute to maintaining robust internal controls.
- Participate in the budgeting process by analyzing historical financial data and assisting with future trend forecasting.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide expert technical accounting support for various projects as required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, technical accounting, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in accounting software, specifically QuickBooks Enterprises, and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential for identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.
- A solid understanding of general ledger accounting principles.
- Outstanding attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills.
- The capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
