Contracts Manager

Provide proactive support for project and branch operations by ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of contractual documentation throughout each project's lifecycle. This role also includes training, mentoring, and advising local Contract Administrators, while offering legal guidance at the branch level.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the Contracts team, including assigning projects, acting as a subject matter expert, and training staff on both routine and complex contractual matters.
- Take ownership of high-level contracts—draft, review, and revise key contractual terms including indemnity clauses, amendments, and conditions.
- Lead negotiations with clients, project managers, procurement staff, and legal counsel.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess risk and develop mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for legal issues within the region, escalating to Corporate Legal as appropriate.
- Work cross-functionally with sales, project management, billing, accounting, and legal departments to resolve project-related matters.
- Support project managers in handling contracts, subcontracts, receivables, and claim issues.
- Deliver training to sales and project teams on contract language and risk management best practices.
- Review and redline customer-issued documents for accuracy in scope and pricing using tools like Bluebeam and Microsoft Word.
- Facilitate the review process of LOIs, contracts, NDAs, and change orders with the Contracts/Legal team.
- Provide monthly updates to senior regional leadership on job status, including shipments, invoicing, change orders, and project closeouts.
- Collaborate with other regional support offices and the central admin team to ensure alignment and process consistency.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- At least 3 years of experience reviewing or managing construction-related documents such as bids, POs, subcontracts, LOIs, and change orders
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam
- Advanced degree or coursework in Business or Accounting
- Experience with AIA billing and construction lifecycle management
- Familiarity with Navision or Microsoft Dynamics
- Solid understanding of contractual risk transfer in construction
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
