A leading nonprofit organization in the Bronx is seeking a dedicated and experienced Grant Accountant

Responsibilities
- Manage monthly analysis and timely billing of assigned government and foundation contracts.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual billing of all contracts.
- Perform monthly grant reconciliations, confirming all activities align with funder and agency guidelines.
- Process payroll expense reclasses and review change of status forms as needed.
- Support funder audits and maintain complete and accurate grant files.
- Assist with budget build-outs and modifications.
- Post grants to the general ledger and perform reconciliations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or a non-degree holder with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years of experience in grants accounting, preferably within a nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial planning and analysis.
- Strong experience with grants billing, budgeting, and modifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with City funding portals, such as the Passport System, is a plus.
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct
accounting software is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
