Job Summary:
You will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of our Postgres databases in a Google Cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Postgres version 15.x, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Linux systems. You will ensure the performance, security, and availability of our database infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Postgres databases (version 15.x, currently 15.3, upgrading to 15.10) in a Google Cloud environment.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations.
- Perform database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure database security and implement access controls.
- Collaborate with development teams to support application deployments and database changes.
- Provide support for Linux systems (CentOS 7 and Red Hat 8) and basic understanding of Docker containers.
- Must have experience with Postgres version 15.x (currently 15.3, upgrading to 15.10).
- Must have experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Basic understanding of Docker containers.
- Experience with Linux systems (CentOS 7 and Red Hat 8).
- Proven experience as a Postgres DBA.
- Strong knowledge of database administration best practices.
- $80-$95 per hour.
