Job Title:  Software Engineer, Backend

Job Location:  Remote

Job Summary:
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems that power our applications. This role involves working with various technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring high performance and reliability of our services. A strong emphasis will be placed on system design, latency, and scalability, as well as development best practices using Go and Python. Duration from 5/6/25 to 11/1/25.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Go and Python.
  • System design. This requires a good understanding of how the systems work, with particular focus on latency and scalability.
  • Write clean, efficient, and testable code adhering to SOLID principles and design patterns.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers and other teams to integrate backend services with user interfaces.
  • Optimize applications for speed and scalability, with a focus on minimizing latency.
  • Implement security and data protection measures.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in production environments.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with building and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of system design principles, with a focus on latency and scalability.
  • Solid understanding of SOLID principles and design patterns.
  • Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Compensation:
  • $72 - $75 per hour
