About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the global B2B SaaS technology space, is looking for a skilled Software Capitalization Project/Program Manager to join their team for a 1 year engagement. This project involves leading the established quarterly software capitalization process, driving critical process improvements, and ensuring compliance with internal-use software accounting standards. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the established quarterly software capitalization process, working with Product Managers and Engineering Leads to determine CapEx eligibility.
- Evaluate Jira data for completeness and accuracy (e.g., GA schedules, descriptions, release dates, etc.), partnering with Product Managers to complete data as required.
- Organize the quarterly project plan and lead its execution, ensuring teams complete work per the defined schedule.
- Implement incremental software CapEx process improvements in collaboration with Operations Leadership.
- Educate and onboard new PM and Engineering team members on the software capitalization processes.
- Act as a point of contact for Capitalization qualification per SOX guidelines.
- Evaluate Tableau reports to find data gaps, discover trends, and engage with appropriate stakeholders to address data or process gaps.
- Identify opportunities and recommend approaches for improving capitalization processes and reporting.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience working in a Product & Technology organization as a Technical Project/Program Manager, Product Operations Manager (individual contributor), and/or Product Manager, preferably for a mid- to large-sized B2B SaaS-based Product Company.
- Proven success in executing the SDLC—strong practical knowledge in conducting it end-to-end (e.g., planning, business case, prioritization, requirements, design, development, launch, and maintenance, etc.).
- Ownership of process development (e.g., organizational SOP’s) with controls/governance measures to ensure process compliance.
- Fluency in Atlassian product suite (e.g., Jira, Confluence), Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs), and analytical tools like Tableau.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to a global project team (US, Israel, Czech Republic, India, etc.).
- Understanding of internal control frameworks (SOX) and experience with SaaS Internal-use Software (IUS) Accounting standards (i.e., ASC 350-40) to determine capitalizable software development.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as a highly organized, self-starter with a strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to connect the dots on how roles and responsibilities, processes, and data are connected and used in a Product and Technology organization.
