Accounting Manager – Remote Opportunity with a Growing Global Enterprise

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, accounts payable, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small, high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging automation and AI tools to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.
- Establish and maintain internal controls, build approval workflows, and ensure thorough documentation to support audit readiness.
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, operational, and technology teams to support strategic initiatives.
- Conduct detailed variance analyses on the P&L and balance sheet, proactively investigating anomalies and recommending corrective actions.
- Evaluate, select, and optimize accounting systems, including hands-on experience with NetSuite and other integrated financial tools.
Required Skills:
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, combining public accounting and startup/tech environments preferred.
- Strong, hands-on expertise with general ledger management, month-end close, and US GAAP compliance.
- Proven ability to lead process improvements and implement automation solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills, responsive teamwork, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small, dynamic team.
- Experience evaluating and implementing financial systems and workflow automation, with a particular focus on AI-enabled tools.
- Familiarity with NetSuite, Bill.com, and Scoro is highly advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills, operational mindset, and high level of ownership.
Nice to Have Skills:
- AI experience or interest in leveraging AI to enhance accounting processes.
- Public accounting background or CPA certification.
- Knowledge of additional financial systems or automation technologies.
- Proficiency in process design and ongoing operational scalability.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license highly preferred.
- 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience, with a track record of working in environments that require adaptability and technological proficiency.
Additional Requirements:
- Remote work setup; candidates primarily based in East Coast or Central time zones preferred; Pacific time zone candidates considered if able to work East Coast hours.
- Ability to start immediately and commit to a 2-3 month contract, with potential extension or full-time conversion following a successful initial period.
