Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses.
  • Oversee general ledger functions, including complex reconciliations and flux analysis, with ownership of controls.
  • Manage the full cycle of prepaid expenses, accruals, and bank/credit card reconciliations, maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Drive process improvements, implement controls, and troubleshoot accounting discrepancies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting, audits, and compliance in a remote setting, with a preference for candidates in PT or MT time zones.
  • Support the development of scalable workflows, policies, and procedures that align with growth initiatives.
  • Manage and mentor team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification (active or inactive); experience with NetSuite is essential.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including GL close, complex reconciliations, and controls.
  • Strong proficiency in advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and large data set analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems, troubleshooting complex reconciliations, and managing prepaid schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and improve month-end close processes efficiently.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills to interpret financial variances and ensure compliance.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with Concur, Expensify, BILL, Blackline, or similar reconciliation/expense tools.
  • Background in Big 4 public accounting or high-growth SaaS/fintech environments.
  • Experience building or enhancing close processes in fast-scaling companies.
  • Knowledge of internal controls, SOX compliance, and system automation.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years in GL accounting, audits, or reconciliations within a high-growth tech or fintech setting.
  • Prior experience in startups, SaaS, or fintech industries highly valued.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to work PST hours; candidates in PT or MT zones preferred.
  • This is a remote role with expectations for strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • No specific travel requirements unless chosen for on-site meetings.
