Title:  AI Product Engineer
Job Type:  Contract
Contract Length:  12-months
Pay Range:  $50/hr – $175/hr
Start Date:  ASAP
Location:  Remote

About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in AI product testing, is looking for a skilled AI Product Engineer  to join their team for a 12-month engagement. This project involves building the crucial front-end user experiences and optimizing the performance and quality of Generative AI features. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building the "connective tissue" between front-end user experiences and backend AI model outputs.
  • Developing intuitive AI-driven UI components (streaming chat, interactive citations, multi-modal uploads).
  • Managing the prompt engineering lifecycle to ensure product features deliver accurate and high-quality AI responses.
  • Optimizing the "Time to First Token" (TTFT) and overall user-perceived latency for AI features.
  • Rapidly iterating on AI product prototypes based on user feedback and internal testing.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • 3+ years of experience in Full-stack development with a focus on AI integration.
  • Deep expertise in React.js, Node.js/Python, and OpenAI/Anthropic APIs. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
  • Experience with modern CSS frameworks, Git, and collaborative design tools like Figma.
  • Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
