Analytics Engineer

This fixed-term, remote opportunity is perfect for experts passionate about ensuring data integrity and transparency, providing essential support to global data ecosystems. Your work will directly impact the accuracy and reliability of reporting that informs strategic decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair stalled or broken data pipelines feeding critical dashboards
- Replace legacy workflows with in-place write methods to preserve access permissions
- Migrate alerting systems from deprecated notifications to more effective, team-based alerts
- Inventory and review BI data sources to eliminate redundant logic and confirm downstream consumers
- Methodically retire unused workflows and tables without disrupting current processes
- Build data freshness and staleness checks for dashboard extracts
- Provide first-line troubleshooting for workflow failures during business hours
- Confirm new product data flows correctly into cost reporting with detailed reconciliations
- Develop comprehensive runbooks and documentation for all workflows touched
- Collaborate weekly with stakeholders for progress updates, ensuring code integrity through pull-request reviews
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in analytics or data engineering, managing production pipelines
- Proficient SQL skills on distributed engines (e.g., Trino/Presto)
- Strong Python and pandas expertise for data processing and validation
- Experience with scheduling and orchestration tools such as Airflow
- Familiarity with Tableau data sources and extracts
- Comfortable with git workflows including pull-request processes
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug pipelines with incomplete documentation
- Clear, concise written documentation skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience handling billing, cost, or financial reporting data
- Jupyter notebooks and parameterized execution tools like papermill
- Familiarity with Airtable (read-only reporting)
- Knowledge of Iceberg or Hive table formats
- Background in media, localization, or content supply chain data
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field preferred
- Hands-on experience with production data pipelines in fast-paced, high-growth environments
Additional Requirements:
- This role is fully remote, requiring PST working hours
- No travel expected
- Focused on stabilization and cleanup, not new development
