Business Systems Analyst – SAP PP / S/4HANA
Overview
Drive the design and continuous improvement of SAP solutions supporting production planning, execution, maintenance, and manufacturing operations. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will partner with decision-makers, system owners, end users, development teams, consultants, and vendors to translate business needs into effective SAP processes and scalable system solutions.
This role is ideal for an experienced SAP professional who understands discrete manufacturing, thrives in a high-growth environment, and can lead requirements gathering, functional design, integration, testing, documentation, and user enablement from concept through implementation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5–12 years of experience designing and implementing SAP Production Planning and Execution (PP) solutions.
- At least one full-lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementation using the SAP PP module, including cross-module integrations.
- Experience or knowledge in OEM or discrete manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing master data and integration points across SAP PP and Plant Maintenance (PM).
- Knowledge of manufacturing master data maintenance in PLM, including:
- Engineering Bills of Material (EBOM)
- Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM)
- Routings
- PLM integration with SAP
- Experience interfacing data with MES or other third-party application integration systems.
- Experience working with APIs to integrate SAP with other systems.
- Understanding of PM master data, including equipment, equipment BOMs, equipment structures, and measurement points.
- Strong SAP configuration and functional design skills.
- Ability to gather requirements, build use cases, analyze functional requirements, and design SAP processes.
- Experience creating functional specifications and conducting walkthroughs with development teams.
- Experience developing test plans, performing integration and regression testing, documenting cutover activities, and supporting user acceptance testing.
- Ability to facilitate user training sessions when appropriate.
- Strong project tracking, coordination, and planning capabilities.
- Proven ability to follow change management procedures and internal guidelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with end users, management, consultants, and vendors.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, high-growth startup environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Previous experience in the manufacturing or automotive industry.
- Additional experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations.
- Ability to debug issues and review code from a functional perspective.
- Experience identifying functional design gaps and defining solutions or system objects to address business needs.
