This strategic position offers an exciting opportunity to support essential functions across laboratory, IT, and facilities departments, ensuring the seamless acquisition of critical goods and services. Your expertise will drive cost-effective purchasing, nurture supplier relationships, and contribute to the company’s mission of advancing medical breakthroughs.

Required Skills:

  • 2–5 years of experience as a buyer, preferably in biotech, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Netsuite, or Oracle
  • Hands-on experience with procurement processes for capital expenditures and indirect goods/services
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to independently resolve procurement challenges with critical thinking and sound judgment
  • Skilled in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet for reporting and analysis
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with legal contract systems such as Ironclad
  • Exposure to Netsuite, SAP, or similar enterprise platforms
  • Familiarity with purchase order management and vendor negotiation
  • Certification or training in supply chain or procurement best practices

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or related field is preferred but not mandatory
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced start-up or biotech environment is highly advantageous

Other Requirements:

  • This position requires onsite presence four days a week in San Carlos, CA, aligning with the company culture
  • Ability to support procurement activities with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to collaborate closely with legal, finance, and vendor teams to ensure compliance and efficiency
