Required Skills:
- 2–5 years of experience as a buyer, preferably in biotech, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Netsuite, or Oracle
- Hands-on experience with procurement processes for capital expenditures and indirect goods/services
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to independently resolve procurement challenges with critical thinking and sound judgment
- Skilled in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet for reporting and analysis
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with legal contract systems such as Ironclad
- Exposure to Netsuite, SAP, or similar enterprise platforms
- Familiarity with purchase order management and vendor negotiation
- Certification or training in supply chain or procurement best practices
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or related field is preferred but not mandatory
- Prior experience in a fast-paced start-up or biotech environment is highly advantageous
Other Requirements:
- This position requires onsite presence four days a week in San Carlos, CA, aligning with the company culture
- Ability to support procurement activities with minimal supervision
- Willingness to collaborate closely with legal, finance, and vendor teams to ensure compliance and efficiency
