CNC Machinist Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to produce high-quality parts with efficient turnaround times.
- Support the operation of 3-axis CNC machinery and assist in preparing for future 5-axis capabilities.
- Develop and implement effective tooling, workholding, and fixturing solutions to optimize machining processes.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Manage tooling, materials, and shop inventory, maintaining organized workflow.
- Collaborate with technicians and internal stakeholders to fulfill custom parts requests.
- Contribute to shop organization, layout improvements, and overall operational enhancements.
- Support additional projects across the shop as needed to meet production goals.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
- Strong CNC programming skills with hands-on experience in setting up and operating CNC machines.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on delivering precise parts quickly without compromising quality.
- Well-rounded mindset, willing to support responsibilities beyond machining tasks.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with 5-axis CNC machining.
- Background in developing fixtures and workholding solutions.
- Experience in both R&D and production environments.
- Welding experience to support diverse shop needs.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Technical training or certifications in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or related fields.
- 3+ years of practical experience in a manufacturing or R&D setting, demonstrating versatility and technical proficiency.
Other Requirements:
- This is an onsite role based in Tyler, TX, with a flexible schedule depending on project needs.
- Immediate start preferred; able to commit to a 6-month engagement with potential transition to full-time.
