Community Relations Specialist – Mid-level

As a Community Relations Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing grant requests, maintaining database systems, and serving as a key contact for external partners. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and update grant program trackers, monitor budgets, and ensure smooth processing of grant requests.
- Vet nonprofit organizations and support the review process for sponsorship and grant proposals.
- Support the execution and management of grant programs within the system, ensuring accurate data entry and tracking.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external partner inquiries, troubleshooting database issues and providing exceptional customer service.
- Track and monitor event sponsorships, including managing guest lists and logistics.
- Conduct research and support miscellaneous projects aligned with community outreach goals.
- Generate reports and analytics to inform program decisions, utilizing tools such as Excel and Power BI.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience with database management, data analytics, and reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on customer service.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders at various levels and across multiple projects.
- Ability to navigate complex systems and multi-stream workflows efficiently.
- Decision-making and problem-solving abilities to handle diverse situations.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Familiarity with nonprofit sector practices and workflows.
- Experience with grant management software such as Blackbaud and iGAM.
- Ability to create and analyze reports using Power BI.
- Knowledge of sponsorship processes and nonprofit program operations.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in nonprofit, community outreach, or grant management roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, public relations, or communications) is preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite (Tuesdays in Framingham, Weds in Marlborough) with the rest remote.
- Local candidates only; commute considerations must be discussed upfront.
- Ability to work a standard 40-hour week (not paid for lunch).
- Background check and drug screening required.
- No visa sponsorship needed; open to contract (no sponsorship) and contract-to-perm arrangements.
- Valid legal identification including last four digits of SSN, birth month/day, and first two letters of the first name required upon submission.
