About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the software and technology industry, is looking for a skilled Corporate Accountant to join their General Ledger (GL) accounting team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves managing critical month-end and quarter-end closing procedures, maintaining financial compliance, and supporting global intercompany consolidation efforts. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running, deliver audit-ready outputs immediately, and operate efficiently within enterprise-level systems.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Close Cycle Execution: Execute month-end and quarter-end closing procedures, including the preparation of complex journal entries and reconciliations (intercompany transactions, loan interest and dividends, prepaids, amortization, and tax accruals) in alignment with U.S. GAAP.
- Intercompany Reconciliation: Collaborate with global finance teams to identify and promptly resolve intercompany imbalances, ensuring account consistency prior to the close cycle.
- System Administration: Utilize BlackLine as the primary platform for posting entries and performing account reconciliations; act as BlackLine administrator to configure workflows and ensure all items are certified within deadlines.
- Audit Readiness: Fulfill audit requests by ensuring the timely submission of supporting schedules and maintaining robust audit evidence in designated repositories.
- Amortization Management: Maintain and update intangible amortization schedules according to established guidelines and record monthly entries.
- Process Optimization: Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline processes involving large data sets from multiple source systems.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 6+ years of corporate GL accounting or public accounting firm experience.
- Deep expertise in SAP and BlackLine (Required).
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA license or active candidacy is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP, specifically ASC 350 (goodwill and intangibles).
- Experience managing multi-entity and intercompany consolidations in a global environment.
- Advanced Excel functionality is essential for data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage your own time effectively, and adapt to dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear, audit-ready status updates to the finance team.
