Our South Bay client is seeking a hands-on Cost Accounting Manager to support global product costing and inventory oversight within a publicly traded, SOX-compliant environment. This individual contributor role partners closely with Supply Chain, Operations, FP&A, and third-party contract manufacturers to ensure cost accuracy and margin visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee standard costing and maintain cost integrity across global entities.
- Review BOM structures, cost roll-ups, and contract manufacturer quotes.
- Analyze PPV, cost variances, and margin drivers.
- Manage cost-related journal entries (rebates, overhead, warranty, E&O, tariffs, freight).
- Support inventory valuation, open PO accruals, and third-party inventory accounting.
- Prepare cost roll-forwards, variance reporting, and audit/SOX documentation.
- Serve as the primary accounting partner to Supply Chain and Operations.
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
- Experience in a public, SOX-compliant company.
- Strong expertise in standard costing, BOMs, and global contract manufacturing models.
- Hands-on SAP and/or NetSuite experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
