Cost Accounting Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor the cost accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory costs.
- Maintain standard material costs, update pricing models, and analyze purchasing patterns.
- Monitor inventory levels, identify obsolete or excess stock, and collaborate on reserve calculations.
- Perform periodic reviews of labor and overhead costs, ensuring accurate product pricing.
- Prepare comprehensive month-end cost reports, variance analyses, and reconciliations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes related to manufacturing costs.
- Assist in inventory counts and evaluate inventory management procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement and implement best practices across cost accounting functions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of cost accounting experience within a standard cost manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Word; advanced spreadsheet skills preferred.
- Robust understanding of MRP II systems and manufacturing cost processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and proactive initiative-taking.
Nice to Have Skills:
- MBA or MS degree in Accounting or Tax.
- CPA certification.
- Over 7 years of general ledger experience.
- Advanced Excel expertise.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 7+ years of directly relevant cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proven ability to lead process improvements and adapt to evolving operational needs.
Additional Requirements:
- This role is onsite at our manufacturing facility, with some opportunities for remote work flexibility.
- Occasional travel may be required for inventory counts and audit engagements.
- Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to confidentiality and compliance with internal controls and standards.
