Title: Data Architect
Job Type: Contract
Contract Length: 3 Months
Target Start Date: Mid-January
Work Location/Structure: Philadelphia, PA
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Healthcare/Med Device technology, is looking for a strategic Data Architect to lead a high-impact initiative to transform patient care & HCP experiences for a 3-month engagement. This project involves defining the end-state architecture, moving the client away from legacy constraints and toward a modern, FHIR-aligned model across AWS, Azure, and Salesforce. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Define End-State FHIR Architecture to Enable Care Teams: Develop the recommended end-state architecture, defining precisely how FHIR resources (e.g., Practitioner Role, CareTeam, EpisodeOfCare, Organization/Location, etc.) will be represented, governed, and exchanged across the Client’s platforms.
- Drive Legacy Migration Strategy: Deliver a deep-dive inventory and dependency map of systems, data domains, and integrations. Identify required data elements for Care Teams and evaluate data gaps relative to current on-prem sources and legacy schemas.
- Establish Implementation Strategy: Recommend a phased sequence of major technical activities required to enable Care Teams across internal systems, establishing architectural guardrails for implementation.
- Document and Align Strategy: Consolidate all findings, diagrams, and recommended approaches into a concise, actionable technical strategy document. Drive alignment and secure signoffs with Client stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
- Serve as a Trusted Technical Leader: Partner closely with the Client's engineering and business stakeholders to produce deliverables to support planning and execution.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 8–12+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise integration, or healthcare interoperability.
- Deep expertise in HL7 FHIR R4/R5, resource modeling, profiling, and implementation guides. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to assess legacy systems and design modernization/migration strategies.
- Strong understanding of core healthcare domains: provider/facility modeling, episodes of care, care coordination, and identity management.
- Strong communication skills to synthesize complex technical landscapes into clear architectural recommendations and stakeholder-ready deliverables.
