Position Summary
Our mission is to build the central nervous system for our entire business—a world-class data platform that empowers every team at Netskope to make faster, smarter decisions. We are seeking a visionary leader to own this platform as a product, blending deep architectural expertise with a relentless focus on the needs of your customers: our data scientists, analysts, and engineers. This is a unique opportunity to define the future of data at Netskope and build the foundational asset that will unlock our next generation of products and insights.
As a hybrid leader, you will be responsible for both the technical architecture of the platform and its product strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture
-
Architect and implement scalable, secure, and efficient enterprise-wide data architectures, standards, and governance policies.
-
Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of foundational data technologies across the stack, including data warehousing, stream processing (e.g., Kafka), orchestration, and governance tools.
-
Oversee the implementation of our cloud-native data platform, ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
-
Serve as the senior-most technical expert and mentor for the data platform team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and end-to-end ownership.
Product Ownership
-
Define, own, and execute the multi-year technical and product roadmap for the Enterprise Data Platform, ensuring alignment with C-level business objectives.
-
Act as the voice of the customer for our internal data users, conducting deep research into their workflows to identify pain points and opportunities for platform-driven innovation.
-
Partner with executive leadership to translate strategic business objectives into a clear, prioritized platform backlog, authoring clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
-
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the platform, focusing on adoption, user satisfaction, data quality, and its direct impact on business velocity.
Qualifications
Required:
-
8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or building large-scale distributed systems.
-
3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, technical program manager, or in an equivalent strategy-setting role within an Agile environment.
-
Deep, hands-on expertise in a major cloud ecosystem (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and its native data services.
-
Proven mastery of modern data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks), distributed data processing (e.g., Spark, Flink), and real-time streaming solutions (e.g., Kafka).
-
Deep understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies, including backlog management, sprint planning, and facilitating ceremonies.
-
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated experience influencing and presenting to both deeply technical audiences and executive leadership.
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
-
Fluency in English.
Preferred:
-
Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer).
-
Experience building secure systems compliant with standards like ISO 27001 or NIST 800-53.
-
Hands-on experience implementing or operating within a Data Mesh or Data Fabric architecture.
-
Familiarity with modern data governance and cataloging platforms (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
-
A proven track record of building and evangelizing internal developer platforms or "infrastructure-as-a-product".
