Data Center Technician

What You’ll Do:
- Monitor data center systems and respond promptly to alerts using monitoring platforms
- Perform rack and stack installations, ensuring all equipment is properly powered and assets are accurately managed
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware issues and hypervisor problems in accordance with established procedures
- Collaborate with capacity, R&D, networking, automation, and support teams to ensure optimal data center performance
- Assist with cabling, monitoring, and other site activities within the Reno facility
- Support team efforts through effective communication and proactive problem-solving
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 1+ years in data center operations or related environments
- Strong proficiency in asset management and infrastructure monitoring tools
- Ability to work independently on complex tasks with excellent organizational skills
- Capable of lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 100 lbs with assistance
- Experience following detailed procedures for hardware troubleshooting and logistics
- Familiarity with data center management software, ticketing systems, and office productivity tools
- Exceptional communication skills and adaptability to learn on the job
Nice to Have Skills:
- Knowledge of hypervisor platforms and virtualized environments
- Experience with networking hardware and configurations
- Prior exposure to automated data center workflows
- Certifications such as CompTIA Data Center or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or coursework in data center operations is a plus
- 1+ years of hands-on experience working in fast-paced data center environments
Other Requirements:
- This position is onsite in Sparks, NV, and requires a full-time commitment Monday through Friday, approximately 40-45 hours per week
- Ability to occasionally travel up to 25% for project support and meetings, though travel is generally minimal
- Must be authorized to work in the US; no remote work options available
