We’re seeking a talented Data Engineer to play a pivotal role in enhancing the PSQA (Product Software Quality Assurance) processes through innovative data solutions. This onsite position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop robust dashboards, and deliver impactful insights in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, build, and maintain insightful dashboards and scorecards to monitor PSQA release and quality metrics.
- Query, aggregate, and transform release and version data utilizing SQL and Python.
- Develop and optimize ETL pipelines to process complex quality and release data from various components.
- Model release- and version-based data to facilitate long-term tracking and trend analysis.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover insights that inform quality decisions.
- Collaborate effectively with PSQA and other stakeholders to translate requirements into tangible dashboards and reports.
- Take ownership of data deliverables, ensuring timely resolution of issues and ongoing accuracy.
- Document data models, pipeline workflows, and dashboard specifications for maintainability and future scalability.
Required Skills:
- Strong SQL expertise for data querying, aggregation, and modeling.
- Proficiency in Python, especially with Pandas or PySpark, for data transformation and ETL tasks.
- Experience building dashboards with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Amazon QuickSight.
- Ability to model release/version-based data for longitudinal analysis.
- Familiarity with basic data science concepts — statistics, exploratory data analysis, and notebook-based analysis.
- Knowledge of AWS services including S3, Athena, or Redshift.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and stakeholder engagement.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with data pipeline scheduling tools like Airflow or similar workflows.
- Practical use of AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Cursor) to enhance productivity.
- Background in QA, release management, or software quality metrics to better understand the context.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, especially within software release or quality assurance environments.
Additional Requirements:
- This is an onsite role based in Foster City, CA, requiring 5 days in the office.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (W2 only).
- No travel required.
