DevOps Engineer

What You Will Do:
- Design, develop, and enhance CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab and Jenkins for embedded C/C++ projects.
- Support automated builds, testing, security scanning, and software releases within Linux/QNX environments.
- Migrate and consolidate DevOps tools and workflows to improve efficiency.
- Automate routine engineering tasks using Python and Bash scripting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex build, pipeline, and environment issues.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative environment.
- Collaborate across multiple engineering teams to streamline processes and improve deployment cycles.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience with GitLab and Jenkins CI/CD pipeline engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Linux and Unix systems.
- Solid scripting skills in Python and Bash.
- Hands-on experience supporting embedded software or firmware development.
- Knowledge of C/C++ build environments, testing, and release processes.
- Experience integrating security scans, compliance checks, and automated testing into pipelines.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex build and deployment issues.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with QNX operating systems.
- Background in medical device or other regulated embedded environments.
- Familiarity with Jira, Jama Connect, security testing tools, and logging/monitoring solutions.
- Experience in migrating DevOps tooling and supporting compliant development environments.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- 5+ years supporting DevOps in embedded systems or regulated environments, preferably within medical device companies or industries such as aerospace, automotive, or IoT.
Other Requirements:
- This role is primarily remote with occasional on-site collaboration in Morgan Hill, CA, or Redmond, WA.
- Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach in identifying and fixing process gaps, with an emphasis on innovation and problem-solving.
