Electro Mechanical Technician

Overview:

Required Skills:

  • Perform physical and functional integration of complex hardware components.
  • Develop and execute Integration Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Build and maintain hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test benches.
  • Expert-level soldering (SMD), cable harness fabrication, and PCB rework.
  • Read wiring diagrams, interconnect maps, and assembly instructions.
  • Manage lab supplies, equipment, and maintain organized, safe workspaces.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers).

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Ability to identify and root-cause hardware-level bugs and signal integrity issues.
  • Experience working closely with board design and firmware teams during system bring-up.
  • Knowledge of performing rigorous validation testing against environmental, mechanical, and electrical specifications.
  • Proficiency with documentation practices and developing testing protocols.
  • Adaptability to navigate the “grey area” between design and production.
  • Effective communicator capable of explaining complex technical issues to diverse teams.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, OR 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in hardware integration.
  • Proven lab skills with soldering, harness fabrication, and system troubleshooting.

  • Onsite work at the client location.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe lab workspace.
  • No remote work; onsite presence is essential.
