About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Autonomous Vehicle Technology, is looking for a skilled FLEX Build Technician to join their team for a 12-month engagement. This project involves performing the duties of a Vehicle Build Technician, working closely with the New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager to build Fleet Expansion (FLEX) vehicles and provide ongoing fleet maintenance support. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Vehicle Technical Support: Provide technical support in the assembly, modification, testing, and troubleshooting of FLEX vehicles, including related assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Fabrication and Wiring: Fabricate and fit check mounts and brackets and electrical harnesses as needed (including soldering and cable termination).
- ADAS Component Support: Support testing and configuration of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) components, including cameras, LIDARs, and RADARs.
- Fleet Maintenance: Provide troubleshooting and maintenance support of fleet vehicles. Must be available for travel throughout the United States and abroad, as dictated by project needs.
- Shop Support: Assist with shop organization, cleanup, and inventory management.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Deep expertise in electromechanical component assembly and testing, electrical harness fabrication, and metal fabrication (including sheet metal work, drilling, rivet nut installation, and frame assembly e.g., 80/20). This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of ADAS and electromechanical systems.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux-based computer systems is a plus, including basic troubleshooting and software usage.
