Title: FLEX Build Technician
Job Type: Contract
Contract Length: 12 months
Target Start Date: 01/01/2026
Work Location/Structure: Sunnyvale, CA - On-site

About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in Autonomous Vehicle Technology, is looking for a skilled  FLEX Build Technician  to join their team for a 12-month engagement. This project involves performing the duties of a Vehicle Build Technician, working closely with the New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager to build Fleet Expansion (FLEX) vehicles and provide ongoing fleet maintenance support. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Vehicle Technical Support:  Provide technical support in the assembly, modification, testing, and troubleshooting of FLEX vehicles, including related assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Fabrication and Wiring:  Fabricate and fit check mounts and brackets and electrical harnesses as needed (including soldering and cable termination).
  • ADAS Component Support:  Support testing and configuration of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) components, including cameras, LIDARs, and RADARs.
  • Fleet Maintenance:  Provide troubleshooting and maintenance support of fleet vehicles. Must be available for travel throughout the United States and abroad, as dictated by project needs.
  • Shop Support:  Assist with shop organization, cleanup, and inventory management.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Deep expertise in electromechanical component assembly and testing, electrical harness fabrication, and metal fabrication (including sheet metal work, drilling, rivet nut installation, and frame assembly e.g., 80/20). This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of ADAS and electromechanical systems.
  • Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux-based computer systems is a plus, including basic troubleshooting and software usage.
