Requirements 

  • 5+ years owning general HR functions- leaves, benefits, staying current on changing laws, tracking new hire training completion, updating employees contributions, etc for payroll
  • Experience maintaining, filing, and updating LOA’s
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience with an HRIS system (e.g., Paylocity, Workday, ADP, UKG) is required.
  • Strong basic Excel skills
  • Experience administering FMLA and managing employee benefits.
Preferred 
  • Experience managing TIAA (retirement) growth contributions and navigating the changing laws related to payroll.
  • Paylocity system experience
  • Experience working within Academia

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized, professional, and likeable individual to join our team as a Temporary HR Consultant . This role will focus primarily on high-priority HR administrative and project-based tasks, including benefits administration, FMLA management, HRIS data integrity, and compliance with state-specific forms. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with proven project management skills and is comfortable working with HR technology. This is a temporary assignment, providing critical support during a peak workload period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Manage and execute the annual FSA Open Enrollment process.
    • Assist employees with general benefits inquiries.
  • Leave Management:
    • Administer and manage FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) cases from application through return to work.
    • Process and ensure compliance with various State forms related to HR matters.
    • HRIS/Systems Management (Paylocity Preferred):
      • Maintain data integrity within the HRIS (specifically Paylocity or similar HRIS system).
      • Implement and verify that all system configurations and logic (e.g., related to benefits, time-off accruals) are functioning correctly.
      • Handle HR updates within the HRIS; will not run payroll.
      • Compliance & Onboarding Support:
        • Track required trainings for new hires to ensure compliance.
        • Assist with various administrative tasks related to employee records and onboarding.
        • General HR Projects:
          • Function as a Project Manager for assigned HR initiatives, ensuring timely execution and clear communication.
          • Draft and update clear, professional, and legally compliant internal HR communications and documentation.
