Incoming Quality Control Technician

What You’ll Do:
- Operate structural-test equipment on incoming materials, executing load-and-stress protocols to verify integrity.
- Conduct comprehensive part inspections—dimensional, visual, and functional—using a variety of precision tools.
- Perform detailed assessments of carbon fiber components, detecting delaminations, voids, or deviations, and identify discrepancies.
- Read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T callouts to guide inspection activities.
- Establish inspection parameters, selecting appropriate measurement tools to optimize quality checks.
- Document inspection results accurately in our quality-management system, ensuring traceability for all parts.
- Identify nonconformances, assign hold tags, and collaborate with engineers and suppliers on root cause analysis and corrective measures.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements by refining inspection protocols, reducing cycle times, and standardizing best practices.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience using hand tools such as calipers and micrometers for precise measurement.
- Strong visual, dimensional, and functional inspection skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T callouts.
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments like aerospace, medical devices, or automotive industries.
- Comfortable documenting inspection data accurately within quality management systems.
- Bonus: Hands-on experience inspecting composite materials, especially carbon fiber components.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Knowledge of composite material inspection techniques.
- Additional certifications related to quality assurance or inspection.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in quality inspection preferred.
- Prior background in quality control within high-precision/high-reliability sectors is strongly desirable.
- Experience with structural load testing and equipment operation is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
- Onsite presence in South San Francisco is required; this role does not support remote work.
- Immediate availability to start is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and maintain strict attention to detail throughout inspection and documentation processes.
