Job Type: Permanent, Direct Hire
Target Start Date: Immediate
Work Location/Structure: On-site - Tucson, AZ
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the automotive service industry, is looking for a skilled IT Operations Technician to join their Information Technology team. This is a permanent, direct-hire position that is critical to supporting the entire IT hardware lifecycle, from staging to shipping. The role is a high-impact, hands-on opportunity for a self-motivated professional to combine technical proficiency in device management with operational excellence in inventory and logistics.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Device Configuration & Technical Staging: Performing imaging, software installation, and configuration of various hardware (PCs, tablets, mobile, POS, servers) using company-approved tools (e.g., Reflect, Tanium).
- ITAM Practices & Documentation: Maintaining accurate asset records, applying asset tags, and documenting configuration settings to support audit and troubleshooting requirements.
- Warehouse & Inventory Management: Maintaining organized storage areas, performing inbound shipment receiving, and conducting regular cycle counts and physical audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Fulfillment & Shipment Coordination: Preparing, packaging, and scheduling outgoing shipments to remote employees and field locations, coordinating carrier pickups, and tracking delivery progress.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement: Collaborating with IT Support, Field Technicians, and other teams to align staging priorities, resolve equipment issues, and identify opportunities for efficiency in staging and shipping workflows.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of success in a hands-on IT operations environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- 2+ years of hands-on IT experience in a similar role (IT operations, staging, hardware deployment, or tech-adjacent logistics).
- Deep expertise in Windows environment and hands-on device staging & imaging (PCs, tablets, mobile devices), including experience with imaging tools (e.g., Reflect, Tanium, SCCM, MDT). This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with basic networking fundamentals (conceptual understanding of DHCP, DNS, VLANs) and exposure to basic server & POS hardware.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team and collaborate effectively across departments.
- This is an on-site position based in Tucson, AZ; no remote or relocation options are available.
