About the Opportunity

Our client, a leader in Technology and Automotive Innovation, is looking for a skilled  Japanese Language Instructor  to join their team for a 12-month engagement. This project involves teaching 1:1 and group Japanese Language lessons to their members in the US and UK, focusing primarily on true beginners (CEFR A1) using standard textbooks like “Japanese for Busy People” and “Marugoto”. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Organize and manage student signup scheduling and lesson logistics.
  • Teach engaging and effective 1:1 and group Japanese language lessons for adult members.
  • Provide constructive and timely feedback to students for each lesson and assess their progress.
  • Collaborate closely with the Dojo Language program team based in Tokyo, Japan on lesson organization and operational needs.
  • Address any other tasks as assigned by the Dojo Language team.
Required Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • 2+ years of experience teaching Japanese Language lessons to adults.
  • Deep expertise as a Native Japanese speaker with a Japanese Language teaching certificate or equivalent experience. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
  • Experience in teaching Japanese in both Business and Casual contexts.
  • Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team and maintain conversational English ability.
