Title:  Jira Admin
Job Type:  Contract (W2 Only)
Contract Length:  6 months
Pay Range:  $65-$75/hour
Start Date:  ASAP
Location:  Hybrid - Foster City, CA

About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in autonomous vehicle technology and robotics, is looking for a skilled Jira Admin  to join their team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves owning and optimizing the tools and processes that drive the engineering lifecycle, with a focus on Jira maintenance, administration, automation, and dashboard development. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Serving as a primary support for the engineering team’s Jira and Confluence environments.
  • Assisting technical teams with the configuration of Jira projects, optimizing workflows, and defining new custom fields, screen schemes, and permission schemes.
  • Automating and integrating Jira with developer tools.
  • Partnering with engineering managers and functional leads to analyze, document, and standardize key processes (e.g., sprint planning, bug tracking, and epic management).
  • Building and maintaining program-level and team-level dashboards (using Jira Dashboards, EazyBI, or other BI tools) and assisting teams in developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve user-reported issues related to Jira and associated tooling.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • 6+ years of experience in technical program management, project management, or a similar role within a software development environment.
  • Deep expertise in Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), including creating complex JQL queries, configuring advanced workflows, Jira Plan, Jira structures, and building shared dashboards. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
  • Extensive experience synchronizing SDLC tools, specifically linking Jira with Git to automate status transitions and improve traceability.
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies, leveraging Jira to streamline sprint planning, backlog grooming, and project tracking.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define metrics, analyze data, and generate actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, translating team needs into scalable, automated, and simplified operational models.
  • Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
W2 only (No C2C or 1099 contractors)
