Plant Issue Resolution Engineer - Autonomous Test Fleet & Robotaxi Pre-Production
Overview:

In this critical role, you will directly impact the quality, safety, and readiness of cutting-edge autonomous vehicles during the manufacturing process. Operating at the nexus of engineering and production, you will lead efforts to identify, contain, and resolve issues rapidly during assembly and pre-production testing of our advanced autonomous fleet. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement, ensure vehicle integrity, and support the flawless deployment of fleet-ready robots and vehicle systems, shaping the future of personal mobility.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 6-8 years of experience in automotive OEMs, robotics, aviation, or complex hardware manufacturing environments
- Profound knowledge of OEM vehicle electrical systems, wiring harnesses, control units, sensors, and mechanical components
- Demonstrated ability to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions in production or field settings
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and problem-solving capabilities in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Skilled in issue triage, containment strategies, and process development for manufacturing quality assurance
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or electric vehicle systems
- Familiarity with tools such as Dassault 3DX, DELMIA, SAP ME/MII, JIRA, Confluence, SQL, Python, or data visualization platforms
Preferred Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred
- Proven track record in supporting new product launches, production trial runs, and engineering change validations within complex hardware production
Other Requirements:
- This position is on-site in Fremont, CA, requiring five days per week in the manufacturing facility
- Candidates must be able to operate effectively within cross-disciplinary teams to meet aggressive timelines and deliver durable solutions
- Ability to support cross-functional collaborations with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers
Note: This role is exclusively offered on a W2 basis, with a project duration of 6 months, starting as soon as possible.
