In this pivotal position, you will operate at the intersection of engineering and production, leading rapid containment and resolution of issues related to door systems, latches, actuators, sealing, access panels, glazing, and body structures. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting prototype builds, engineering changes, and process improvements that optimize manufacturability and quality. Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 6-8 years of experience in automotive OEMs, robotics, aviation, or similar complex hardware systems
- Proven expertise in root cause analysis, containment strategies, and corrective actions within manufacturing or product engineering
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body systems, including doors, latches, actuators, seals, and structures
- Excellent cross-functional communication and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-urgency environment
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or electric vehicle systems
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as 3DX (Dassault), DELMIA, SQL, Python, or data visualization platforms
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience in manufacturing or engineering roles within automotive or robotics industries
Other Requirements:
- This is an onsite role located in Hayward, CA; requires presence at the manufacturing facility five days a week
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with multiple departments
- Strong technical depth with a focus on quality, problem resolution, and continuous improvement
