Power BI Consultant – Unlock Data-Driven Insights in the Pharmaceutical Industry

What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain executive-level dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
- Collaborate closely with Data Warehouse and Data Engineering teams to utilize existing enterprise data models.
- Translate business requirements from leadership into intuitive, actionable visualizations.
- Develop KPIs, scorecards, and operational reports for diverse stakeholders.
- Optimize Power BI reports for performance, usability, and scalability.
- Build and maintain semantic models, datasets, and data visualizations to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Validate data integrity and uphold reporting standards across business functions.
- Document dashboard logic, calculations, and reporting procedures.
- Provide recommendations for dashboards enhancements and best practices.
- Support ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from executive leadership.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience developing dashboards and analytics solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
- Strong background working within enterprise data warehouse environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop, DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling.
- Solid experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Proven ability to gather business requirements and translate them into impactful reports.
- Meticulous attention to detail and data validation expertise.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences organizations.
- Familiarity with FDA-regulated products and the unique reporting requirements of such environments.
- Knowledge of commercial pharmaceutical data, including sales, medical affairs, clinical trials, or manufacturing data.
- Experience working within regulated compliance frameworks, data governance, and audit-ready reporting.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, or cloud-based analytics platforms.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a regulated or pharmaceutical setting is highly advantageous.
Other Requirements:
- This is a contract consulting role.
- Initially approximately 20 hours per week during standard business hours, with an expected increase to 40 hours per week around the beginning of the year as new products are launched.
- The role involves collaborative partnership directly with Data & Analytics and Data Warehouse teams.
