About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the biotechnology industry, is looking for a skilled Project/Program Manager – Commercial IT to join their team for a 9 months engagement. This project involves leading Commercial IT launch readiness for multiple therapeutic areas. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Program & Project Leadership: Lead and manage all IT launch readiness initiatives across assigned therapeutic areas, ensuring delivery of milestones, budgets, and timelines. Build and manage detailed project plans for CRM onboarding (Veeva CRM & Align), data platforms (Commercial Data Warehouse, MDM), PromoMats, Events Management, Market Access tools, and related system integrations. Establish and drive governance structure (status meetings, RAID logs, steering committees) to ensure visibility, risk mitigation, and proactive issue resolution. Coordinate with Commercial, Medical, Market Access, and Field teams to ensure IT solutions align with launch strategies and business needs.
- System Implementation & Readiness: Oversee implementation and onboarding of Commercial IT systems, including Veeva CRM, Veeva Align, PromoMats, Events Management, Master Data Management (HCP/HCO, Affiliations, Account Hierarchies), Commercial Data Warehouse & Data Aggregation, Market Access tools (FRM, PAL, Copay/Hub data integrations), and Adobe Marketo (Marketing Automation). Coordinate cross-functional system testing, training, and go-live readiness. Partner with system owners and vendors to ensure environments are validated, compliant, and launch-ready.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for project communication between IT, business stakeholders, and vendors. Facilitate alignment between Commercial Operations, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Compliance functions on IT readiness activities. Manage vendor timelines and deliverables; ensure contracts, SOWs, and SLAs support project execution.
- Data & Integration Oversight: Oversee integration of data flows across CRM, data warehouse, and MDM systems to enable launch analytics and reporting. Partner with IT Data and Analytics teams to ensure launch data readiness, including dashboards, KPIs, and performance monitoring. Support compliance and security reviews to ensure all systems adhere to data privacy and standards.
- Launch Readiness & Post-Launch Support: Coordinate system readiness checkpoints and documentation for each therapeutic area. Establish post-launch transition plans to operational teams for ongoing system management and support. Drive lessons learned and process improvements across launches to build repeatable IT launch frameworks.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years of experience in IT project or program management within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Deep expertise in leading Commercial launch readiness programs involving multiple workstreams and vendors. Familiarity with core life sciences systems like Veeva CRM, Veeva Align, PromoMats, Events Management, Marketo, Commercial Data Warehouse, Master Data Management (MDM), Market Access enablement (FRM, PAL, copay/hub data integration), Data aggregation and analytics platforms. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals. Strong understanding of system implementation lifecycles and working knowledge of Commercial IT data flows (HCP/HCO, payer, specialty pharmacy, and patient data). Ability to manage technical and business teams, translating complex IT deliverables into clear business outcomes.
- Experience with project tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, or Jira.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team, excellent presentation skills across executive, business, and technical audiences. Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related business/technical field required.
- PMP, Agile, or similar project management certification preferred.
