About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the Biotech industry, is looking for an experienced Implementation Project Manager – SAP P&L Reporting & BlackLine Implementation to join their team for a 7 to 9 Month engagement. This project involves leading the end-to-end delivery of SAP Profit & Loss (P&L) reporting enhancements and a BlackLine system implementation. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can act as the central point of coordination between FP&A, Accounting, and IT to ensure project milestones are met, risks are managed, and all stakeholders are kept informed.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Project Planning & Governance: Develop detailed project plans, manage project budgets, risks, dependencies, and issues, and establish governance routines (status meetings, risk reviews) to maintain visibility and accountability.
- System Implementation & Integration: Oversee configuration, testing, and rollout of SAP P&L reporting enhancements, including supporting BlackLine setup (reconciliations, journal entry workflows, task automation) and coordinating data migration/integration testing.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with FP&A and Accounting teams to gather business requirements, validate reporting outputs, and ensure alignment with financial close and reporting processes.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between Finance (FP&A, Accounting), IT, and external vendors. Provide regular project status updates, and develop and deliver clear project communications, including executive summaries and presentations.
- Quality & Improvement: Drive user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure system outputs meet reconciliation and reporting standards, and identify opportunities for process optimization and standardization.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 8-10+ years of experience managing ERP or Finance Systems implementations.
- Deep expertise in SAP Financials (FI/CO) and P&L report configuration, along with proven experience implementing or supporting BlackLine modules (Account Reconciliation, Journal Entry, Task Management). This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals, ensuring successful delivery in complex, multi-entity environments (Biotech experience a plus).
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, etc.). (PMP certification preferred).
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities to provide clear and concise status updates and manage cross-functional alignment.
