QA Engineer

Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Python and Typescript for automation, API testing, and data validation
- Hands-on experience with REST API testing frameworks (pytest, requests, or similar) and schema/contract validation
- Expertise in performance and load testing tools such as K6, Locust, or equivalent
- Ability to script and query using SQL to support metrics and triage processes
- Familiarity with staged software delivery, environment promotion, and change management process
- Competence in debugging distributed services in containerized environments, including logs and health checks
- Experience working with Git, code review workflows, and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Knowledge of geospatial, mapping, or routing platform testing
- Experience validating impact assessments or constraint management workflows in production systems
- Familiarity with observability stacks (metrics, tracing, log aggregation)
- Experience with cloud data stores (S3, Athena, or similar) and test/metrics analysis tools
- Exposure to workflow orchestration (Airflow or equivalent)
- Use of AI-assisted development tools to enhance testing productivity
- Background in QA, release management, or software quality metrics within high-availability SaaS environments
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Proven track record in QA automation, API testing, and performance testing
- Prior experience in roles supporting continuous integration and delivery pipelines
- At least 3+ years in a QA or testing-focused position within a software development environment
Other Requirements:
- This is an onsite role located in Foster City, CA, requiring 5 days per week presence
- Candidate must be authorized to work on a W2 basis; this role does not involve remote options or C2C arrangements
- Ability to support release validation, monitoring, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced operational setting
