About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Healthcare, is looking for a skilled SAP Functional Expert – Logistics / EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) to join their team for a 6-12+ month engagement. This project involves partnering with business stakeholders to understand logistics and warehouse management requirements, defining and configuring SAP EWM solutions, supporting implementation of 2-3 small to medium projects in the near term, and driving long-term operational excellence. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with business partners to capture and refine logistics/warehouse management requirements (put away, picking, goods receipt, shipping, inventory management, work-centres, handling units).
- Translating business requirements into functional specifications, configuration settings, and technical design documents for SAP EWM.
- Configuring SAP EWM (and integrating with SAP S/4HANA, WM/IM, MM, SD, possibly GTS) to support warehouse operations and logistics flows.
- Leading or participating in 2-3 small to medium projects (0-30/60/90-day horizons): blueprinting, design, testing (unit, integration, user acceptance), go-live support, and hypercare.
- Validating and testing solutions to ensure alignment with documented business processes, performing functional testing, and supporting user training and documentation.
- Monitoring system performance and driving continuous improvement of logistics processes to increase efficiency, predictability, and cost savings.
- Maintaining master data integrity in support of automated warehouse processes.
- Serving as liaison between logistics business users, IT/development teams, and external systems (third-party warehouses, integration points).
- Providing ongoing support and troubleshooting for SAP EWM post-go-live; escalating issues and supporting remediation as needed.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of hands-on SAP logistics/warehouse management experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environment.
- Deep expertise in SAP EWM module (configuration, integration, business process design). This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with a good understanding of logistics and warehouse operations: goods receipt, staging, picking, packing, shipping, inventory, handling units, RF/mobile devices, automation.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team, and excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, ability to work cross-functionally, and manage multiple priorities.
