This is a dynamic, hands-on opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a rapidly growing company and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of its accounting function. Reporting to the CFO, you will own a critical blend of technical accounting and operational duties, focusing on building, streamlining, and documenting scalable accounting processes. You will be responsible for the full monthly close cycle, including revenue recognition, AP, and AR. This role is a chance to drive modernization within Finance by improving processes with new tools, automation, and AI. Collaboration with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, People) is essential. Core Responsibilities
- Lead the comprehensive monthly accounting close process, management reporting, and ensure all financial activities, revenues, and expenses are accurately recorded in compliance with GAAP.
- Manage Accounts Receivable, including the timely generation of monthly invoices and accurate recording of payments.
- Oversee Accounts Payable processing, cash postings, and perform meticulous bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and post general journal entries, including complex monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals and adjustments, in accordance with established department policies.
- Prepare specialized broker/dealer filings, net capital calculations, and execute various critical financial analyses.
- Take an active role in developing, documenting, and maintaining robust accounting process narratives and internal controls.
- Provide significant support for the annual external audit.
- Contribute to departmental and organizational success through ad-hoc analysis and special projects as needed.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and/or audit.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required .
- Expert-level understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Exceptional verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of management and cross-functional departments.
- Proven time management skills with a strong orientation towards deadlines and attention to detail.
- Broker-dealer/net capital experience is highly preferred.
- FINRA Series 27/28 is a plus.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with modern accounting systems and finance tools such as NetSuite, Ramp, Rippling, Carta, HubSpot, and PowerBI.
