Senior Accountant

Join a dynamic and rapidly expanding biotech company as a Senior Accountant, where your expertise will play a pivotal role in supporting our financial operations and strategic growth. In this essential position, you will lead key month-end close activities, conduct detailed account reconciliations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting. Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including accrual-basis accounting
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems, particularly Netsuite and BlackLine (or similar platforms)
  • Excellent Excel skills and effective communication abilities
  • Experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Knowledge of SOX internal controls and audit support procedures

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Public company accounting experience
  • Industry experience in biotech or life sciences
  • Progress toward or active CPA certification
  • Familiarity with SAP or Oracle ERP systems

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally including exposure to public companies and biotech sectors

Other Requirements:

  • Location: Hybrid role based in San Carlos, CA (minimum of 3 days on-site weekly)
  • This role is initially for a 3+ month contract with potential for extension based on business needs
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced, evolving environments and work independently or collaboratively as needed
