Senior Accountant - Part-time (30 hours/week)

Elevate your accounting career with a dynamic, global enterprise software company seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant for a flexible, part-time role. Covering maternity leave, this role supports both the US entity and group-level accounting functions, ensuring seamless financial operations during a crucial period of transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and fixed assets
  • Perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and potential issues
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and collections
  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies efficiently
  • Prepare and review general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support group reporting and respond to ad hoc finance requests
  • Maintain documentation, internal controls, and assist with audits and tax prep

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong month-end close expertise
  • Hands-on experience with Xero accounting software
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation, and data analysis)
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently in a remote setting

Nice to Have Skills:

  • CPA or similar certification
  • Experience supporting multi-entity or international group reporting
  • Background in software or technology industries

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience with global or multi-entity financial reporting preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Fully remote arrangement with flexible hours, requiring availability during US business hours
  • Engagement duration of approximately 6-8 months to cover maternity leave
  • Company supplies a laptop for work purposes
