The Senior Accountant - Plant Accounting
Hybrid, South West of Boston
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with hands-on manufacturing and plant accounting exposure.
- Working knowledge of cost accounting, inventory processes, U.S. GAAP, and standard month-end close procedures.
- High proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, variance analysis, and balance sheet/P&L review skills.
- Clear communication skills with a proven ability to partner across site operations and corporate accounting teams.
Preferred
- CPA or CMA designation
- Experience supporting multi-site or global manufacturing plant environments.
- Prior mentoring/coaching experience with staff accountants or junior team members.
- Background working across multiple companies or plant setups to bring external best practices and process improvements.
Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant - Plant Accounting plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial results for manufacturing plant operations. Reporting directly to the Corporate Accounting Manager, this position acts as a vital bridge between plant-level operations and corporate accounting.
In this role, you will oversee plant journal entries, accruals, P&L/balance sheet variance analysis, and cost/inventory accounting while actively supporting the month-end close. Additionally, you will partner with plant staff, guide staff accountants, drive process automation, and assist with external audit deliverables
