Senior AR Consultant
Overview
Join a growing SaaS organization as a Senior AR Consultant and take ownership of critical billing, collections, and accounts receivable operations. In this remote consulting role, you’ll help ensure billing accuracy, strengthen AR health, improve cash flow, and support reliable downstream revenue reporting as the organization scales.
You’ll manage end-to-end invoicing and collections for pay-as-you-go and prepaid commitment customers while supporting recurring and usage-based billing models. Working closely with Revenue Accounting, Sales, Engineering, and Operations, you’ll resolve complex billing inquiries, improve workflows, support monthly close, and help advance automation, controls, and scalable processes.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of progressive billing and collections experience within a SaaS or technology company
- Experience managing recurring and usage-based billing models
- Knowledge of pay-as-you-go and prepaid commitment customer billing
- Experience with marketplace platforms and related reporting, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with ERP and billing systems, such as NetSuite, Stripe, and Salesforce CPQ
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex contracts and data sets
- Experience with AR aging analysis, collections coordination, dispute resolution, and billing inquiry management
- Understanding of AR reporting, allowance for doubtful accounts, and general ledger reconciliations
- Experience supporting monthly accounting close activities, including usage validation, invoice verification, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present information clearly
- Experience executing internal controls and maintaining documentation to support audit and SOX compliance
- Ability to manage a high volume of customer, Sales, and internal billing requests while prioritizing and routing inquiries effectively
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience supporting new SKU creation, product launches, pricing models, or other business initiatives
- Experience with user acceptance testing for billing and accounting systems
- Exposure to AI adoption, workflow automation, or systems integration initiatives
- Experience supporting external audits and preparing PBC documentation related to billing operations
- Experience developing scalable billing, collections, or accounts receivable processes
- Ability to work independently and direct internal inquiries to the appropriate teams or stakeholders
- Experience with contract and pricing analysis, cash application, DSO management, or revenue accounting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred Education and Experience
- 3+ years of progressive billing and collections experience in a SaaS or technology environment
- Relevant experience and demonstrated technical expertise in accounts receivable, billing operations, and collections are highly valued
