Senior Generative AI Engineer / AI Agent Developer

This pivotal role offers the opportunity to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge AI agents and workflows that address complex business challenges. You will be integral to building scalable, enterprise-grade AI solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive AI strategy and platform capabilities, all within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and deploy AI agents and agentic workflows leveraging modern Generative AI frameworks.
  • Build scalable AI solutions utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), orchestration frameworks, and autonomous agents.
  • Collaborate with business, product, and engineering teams to identify AI use cases and deliver production-ready solutions.
  • Evaluate and incorporate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance solution effectiveness.
  • Ensure AI solutions adhere to enterprise standards for security, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Help establish enterprise AI standards, platform capabilities, tooling, and best practices in a greenfield environment.
  • Partner with stakeholders across enterprise architecture and engineering to enable and govern AI deployment.

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI services, and deploying enterprise AI solutions.
  • Proven expertise in building, testing, and deploying AI agents within enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, AI workflow orchestration, tool calling, and agent architectures.
  • Proficiency in Python and modern AI/ML development practices.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development platforms such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or Slingshot.
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals including API integration and system design.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a greenfield environment and establish enterprise AI standards.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with cloud-native AI architectures and MLOps best practices.
  • Familiarity with agent orchestration and observability frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or LangSmith.
  • Experience with AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud AI, or comparable enterprise AI platforms.
  • Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise data platforms and business applications.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise AI platform development, deployment, and governance.
  • Proven ability to lead AI initiatives and collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be available to work on-site if within the Boston or Needham area, or open to remote arrangements.
  • Ability to start quickly with demonstrated enterprise AI and agent experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to align technical solutions with organizational goals.
